A Letter To People Who Feel Like They Don't Fit In

In the society, there are millions of people who have different backgrounds in terms of race, sexual orientation, skin color, nationalities, language they speak and more. And when it comes for all of those people to interact with each other or blend into one or another group, it is so difficult for us to do.

I know some of us might feel left out at one point; you feel like you don't belong into a certain type of group of people you are hanging out with; you feel like no matter how hard you try it seems, you do not really fit in with them. So this is a letter to who felt like they don't belong.

Speaking of fitting in into a certain type of group for me, it seems like the thing that just goes out and about. I have been in those situation every single day or every single minutes. Sometimes the people in the group did not know how you feel because they are not the one who is in that situation, unlike us the one who strive so hard to make ourselves fit in with other people in group.

Have you ever felt left out by your friends at some point? Have you ever felt like your words mean nothing when you talk to certain people in the group? Have you ever felt like no matter how hard you try, those people don't really notice it? If you used to feel all of those, I am sorry. We all shared the same path. I am a very extroverted person, sometimes an introverted and enthusiastic person, but my whole life here studying in the United States figuring out what I should do every day to make myself fit in with my friends. I felt happy outside yet broken inside, I spent time doing everything by myself every single minute (going to the movie, going out to eat and more)

To everyone who felt the same way, do not let those get into you. You are better than you think. Try to be someone who can depend on themselves. Sometimes you don't really need your friends to be with you all the time. But the most important thing is to fit in with yourself, to make yourself belong with yourself.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
