To my favorite little bothers
J and D,
I can't express enough how thankful I am for you both. Being your big sister is the best job in the world. There's nobody else I'd rather share laughs and secrets with, fight over who gets to choose what we watch on tv that night, argue over what to eat for dinner, and pretend to be WWE wrestlers on the couch with. I love watching you two grow up into amazing young men. You're my best friends, truly.
You've shown me what I want to do with the rest of my life; be a teacher and role model for other little kids, just like I am for you, hopefully. Thank you for showing me patience, love, and support for the last thirteen years. Having you in my life has brought me so much joy and happiness (along with stress). I will support whatever decisions you make in life and always stick by your sides throughout it all. I will love you for whoever you choose to be.
Thank you giving me the best memories of my life, like when we get a blizzard and we go outside and push each other in the snow. And when we watch Impractical Jokers on the couch and laugh like there's no tomorrow. And when you come in my room for movie nights, or just to hang out. And when we play music and dance around like idiots to make Mom laugh until her sides hurt. The memories we share are ones that I'll never forget, and I can't wait to spend the rest of my life making more.
You both make me so proud. I love helping you study for tests and helping you with homework that you think is impossible. There's nothing I wouldn't do for you. I will always be your biggest supporter and biggest fan, watching you play your favorite sports and cheering you on from the sidelines. I love being your shoulder to cry on and giving you advice when you're fighting with your friends or getting picked on at school.
You've taught me something that I've struggled with throughout the years, which is not to care what anybody thinks of you. Be yourself and if they don't like it, then they don't matter. I'm grateful to have you both look up to me, but I also am the one who looks up to you. You'd think being the older sibling that I am supposed to teach the lessons all the time, but you both have taught me so many things, as well; how to let go and have fun, how to understand football and soccer (kind of), how to have patience for the most part, and how to give love and be loved.
I will always value your opinions the most out of anybody else's. Thank you for telling me exactly how it is and not giving me a shed of lie, like when I'm going out on a date or just with my friends, and I need your advice on an outfit. Thank you for telling me my shoes don't match, or my shirt is ugly, or what I should do with my hair.
Thank you for letting me borrow your hoodies and t-shirts when all of mine are dirty. Thank you for not judging the ugly Snapchats I take and my horrible singing and dancing, but being my back-up singers and dancers. Thank you for making me laugh until tears come out of my eyes with your stupid jokes. I'd never admit this out loud, but you two are, without a doubt, the funnier siblings. Thank you for calling me when you're selling candles and candy for school because you know I'll be the first person to buy them. Although things aren't always sunshine and rainbows, I wouldn't change a single thing about either of you.
You make my life so easy and fun. Being away from you both at college is tough, but I know whenever I come home, it's like nothing has changed. We continue our movie marathons, our at-home concerts for Mom, our bickering, and our fun times.
Thank you for giving me eternal friendships and the most support I could ever get from two little kids. I love you both endlessly, and that will never change.
Forever and always,
Katie
