As my sophomore year of college comes to an end, I can't help but reflect on my time here at Westfield State University so far. Not too long ago, I was a clueless commuter wondering around campus looking lost my freshman year. And now, I'm wrapping up my second year of college with amazing life-long friends I've been blessed with. College is a new and scary place with anxiety-filled decisions, but one of the best decisions I've made was deciding to dorm.
I've found friends that made my college experience ten times better. College roommates are some of the most important people that you encounter in your life. They are the ones you're around the most and have the biggest influence on your life. There is so much I am thankful for.
Dearest Roommates,
Thank you for giving me the most memorable nine months of my life. It has been a roller coaster. We've had our ups and our downs, but living with other people is not always a walk in the park. Sometimes with great friendships comes times of displeasure. Because of you two, there are times when I would seriously debate if I should sleep outside on the green instead of in the room. Although we may have our irritable moments and disagreements, I've found such great friends. Our time together has been anything short from boring. With you two, it's always an adventure.
Thank you for always lending a shoulder to cry on. I am so blessed to have you two by my side through the endless tears, laughter, and stress that makes college college. I know I can come to you about anything. I've never felt so comfortable around people that allow me to be myself. We may have grown up with different backgrounds, but we have adapted to one another really well. As I learn more about you both, I tend to learn more about myself. We are all so different, but so very much the same person.
Thank you for understanding me (alright alright, for the most part). Even when I can't quite find the words to truly explain how I'm feeling, you guys get it. You try to lift me up when I'm feeling down even when I'm stubborn or just stuck in my grump phase. You two are my support system. Without you both, I don't think I would have been able to get through these past two semesters.
Thank you for being you. I have learned so much more from you two than you'll ever know. You've made me into a better person. You've introduced me to new experiences, and have given me such great advice to keep me going.
Thank you for putting up with my crazy. I'm so grateful to have met people that are just as spontaneous as I am -- we give this campus an extra splash of color. Thank you for the abnormal hour food trips and random singing sessions. I cherish all of our crazy adventures, and I know there will be many more to come. Thank you for always making me laugh so hard my stomach hurts. Whether it's about my mess of a life, our relationship problems, or our embarrassing moments, we always laugh the pain away and make the most of what life throws our way.
Thank you to my roommates for being the best gifts a girl could ask for in a roommate, a soul sister, and a life long friend. This is just the beginning of our friendship. I can't wait to grow old and gray together
