A Letter To My Big Sister
Ashley Piowlski

To my big sister,

I know we may not be the closest of siblings, but we are still family. Whenever someone asks how many siblings I have, I always tell them about you. It doesn't matter who it is either, by the end of my conversation with them they will know a little about you, a little about my sister, that is. I am proud of you! I hope you know that, and that is why I may brag about you. I am also jealous of you; of your sense of fashion and how important your loved ones are to you. I have never seen someone so involved with family and with friends. I think anyone would be able to look at your social media and pick up on that fact right away; the fact that you treasure every moment spent with your loved ones. This is something that is very special about you and that you should always hold close to you.

I miss you. I enjoy the time we do have with each other every year and the holiday messages. I wish we could see each other more often and get to know each other better, but I will take the time I get. Whenever I see your name come up on my phone I am so interested in what it says. This is because anything we talk about is time still spent talking to you. I'm waiting for the day you get married and I can see my beautiful sister marry my future brother-in-law. I look forward to the times when you come out to visit and I can't wait for the new memories of me coming out to visit. I look for the days when you have children and I become an auntie. I will spoil those kids and come visit as much as I can. I'm sure they will be the most fashionable kids as well, because just look at you! You will be a great mom someday too. Just look at the relationship between you and your mom. I know that if you have a daughter you will not only be her mom, but friend too.

Even though we don't talk all that often, I know that I could come to you with pretty much anything. I know that you would honestly care and listen to what I have to say. You would give me the best advice you could and share experiences you have had. I will be thankful for your support and your words of wisdom.

I always wish you the best of luck in everything you do. You have come so far and are doing great things for yourself right now. You have become a beautiful woman who knows what she wants and goes after it. I look up to you, and I hope you know that. Therefore, you are going to keep doing great things. So thank you for being the best big sister you can be to me.

Love always,

Your little sister

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
