When joining a sorority, I always looked forward to the moment that I would get my big. Your big is your go-to person and a forever friend. Knowing that, I didn’t know how much my big would really mean to me.
When I first met my big, I knew that we would be best friends. She loved Disney just like me and we were both looking for a bond that would last a lifetime. I remember the day that I found out she was my big and I got introduced to my amazingly beautiful family. Not only is my big amazing, but so is my family. All of us new members walked into a room with large boxes. Each were decorated to match a key that we had found earlier. I went to my box and stood in front of it with my heart nearly about to beat right out of my chest. Everyone in the room counted down from three and all the bigs jumped out of their boxes, except for mine. Then she finally jumped out of the box and I ran forward with arms wide open to embrace my big.
From that moment, I knew that our friendship would only grow. She has been there for me through thick and thin. Even though my life gets crazy busy and we don’t get to always hang out as much as we would both like, my big is always there for me and I am always there for her. Anything she would ever need I am there for her and I know she feels the same about me. My big is absolutely beautiful inside and out. She is one of the most caring people I have ever met and she would do anything for anyone. But she also isn’t afraid to stand up for herself, and that’s what I love the most about her.
I can’t thank my big enough for everything she has done for me. She has been there for pep talks when I think I’m going to fail nursing school. She was there for me when my puppy passed away. She has been there for me just to complain about things that got under my skin. She has been there for me through a lot and the list will just continue to go on from here. I can’t wait till I get my own little and our family continues to grow. I hope that my little loves me as much as I love you.
I cannot wait to see where our big and little adventures take us from here on out. Having a big isn’t just a friendship you take with you for four years, but for life. To my big, I love you to the moon and back!
