A Letter To My Best Friends While We Are Away At School

To my girls,

Although we haven’t been best friends forever, I’m so glad we got where we are today. I feel like every year that we are friends we get stronger. We have been through so much sh*t together, but we have stuck by each other’s sides. We always talk about how it sucks that we have lost so many friends, but it’s okay. Every event that has happened in our lives has brought us to where we are today. And I couldn’t be more thankful.

When we all decided on our colleges, we knew how hard it was going to be to be away from each other. And we were right, it sucks. But in a way, it has brought us closer. We talk more than we ever have and we are there for each other through everything. We all know that we can just send a text to vent about our sucky days or something our roommates did that pissed us off.

Although it sucks being away from each other, it makes the times when we are together, so much better. I just wanted to write this letter to you so you know how much I love and appreciate you. You motivate me every day to continue my journey in school even when I am having an awful time. Thank you so much for all of the love and support you guys give me. I love you more and more every day and I know that we will always be best friends. (Not like you have a choice because we are all going to be bridesmaids at each other’s weddings ;) )

From your best friend

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
