Generally, the following letter is for all One Direction loving souls who have been able to relate to their lyrics, whether you relate to their breakup songs or their love songs. Specifically though, this one goes to one of my best friends.
To a best friend on her birthday,
I've got something that I really want to let you know. Friends like you are so hard to find, sometimes I feel like I'm searching for Fool's Gold. You are definitely a blessing beyond words, and I wouldn't trade our friendship for anything in the world. This type of friendship is often Once in a Lifetime, and I can't express how much you mean to me.
When I'm fat and old, I know that I'll still feel the same around you, and that we will always go crazy, crazy, crazy as we dance all night to the best song song ever. I can count on you after all that we've been through, cause I know that you'll always understand. You are always willing to listen to me and help me through whatever problems I may face. 100 albums full of pictures could not every even begin to represent all of the memories we share, and not even a landslide or a riptide could take it all away
When I close my eyes, I'm filled with so much appreciation for the times we have shared. I have No Control of the emotions that flow as I remember the joyous memories.
You are by my side through thick and thin. You're the person with whom I can be goofy, dumb, and obnoxious because I don't care what people say when we're together. I've counted all my mistakes and there's only one standing out from the list of the things I've done. That mistake is that I don't get to see or talk to you enough now that life has taken us separate ways. If I Could Fly, the first place my wings would take me would be to you (so we could both freak out that I have WINGS), which would be just Perfect. Only half as perfect as you are, though. Your beauty radiates from the inside out, though you're insecure, I don't know what for! Being the way that you are is enough, and when you smile at the ground it ain't hard to tell that you don't know you're beautiful. That's what makes you beautiful. If I let you know that I'm here for you, maybe you'll love yourself like I love you.
Every time I see you it feels like this could be forever right now, don't want to sleep 'cause we're dreaming out loud. All of my favorite conversations with you, my sweet friend, were always Made in the A.M. 'cause we don't know what we're saying. During all of these sweet late night conversations, it feels as though time is frozen.
I write you this letter because I want you know know how much you mean to me. And I mean, after all we're only getting older, and I been thinking about you lately. Does it ever drive you crazy just how fast the night changes? Everything that you've ever dreamed of disappearing when you wake up. But there's nothing to be afraid of, 'cause even when the night changes, it will never change, it will NEVER change me and you.
