An Open Letter To Hillary Clinton

The questions that all Americans are thinking.

Secretary Clinton,

Let me begin this letter by saying congratulations on your nomination for being the next President of the United States. That is a huge accomplishment for any person and I would honestly congratulate anyone. However, I may not understand how or why you got nominated, but still, a congratulations is in order.

I just have a few questions, comments and concerns about your political stances. After all, you seem to go back and forth about a lot of issues, so where do you really stand? Do you remember when you were against gay marriage? In the early 2000's during an interview you stated "Marriage has got historic, religious and moral content that goes back to the beginning of time, and I think marriage is as a marriage has always been, between a man and a woman." However, now you are totally supporting gay marriage and rights. I am in no means homophobic, but how do you suddenly change a view that you've strongly supported for so long? Are you doing it to simply gain more voters?

I know what you're thinking, "Well that was in the past, and the past is past." I agree with you on that one, but then why are you bashing Donald Trump for things he has done in the past? If the past is truly the past, then why should it matter? Do I agree with what Mr. Trump said about women, no I don't, but at least he apologized for it instead of covering it up and lying about it. Speaking of lying, I need to know why you decided to delete over 30,000 emails. If they were simply for "family reasons" then why delete them? Also, who has 30,000 emails from family, I can't think of anyone who does. I'm also very concerned as to why you lied to the families of the Benghazi victims. Those families lost someone they loved tremendously, but you couldn't even take responsibility for that. To me, someone who takes responsibility for their actions is extremely important in a presidential candidate.

Every time I turn on the TV or listen to my Pandora station, I see an ad from you. One of those ads that comes to mind, is when you are talking about how much you love children and think that they deserve the best healthcare. I agree with you on that, but isn't a 37 week old infant in its mother's womb a child? To you it isn't. At 37 weeks, a baby is fully developed and can feel everything. They can move, hear, touch and most importantly feel pain. Do you know how they perform an abortion on an infant that late in pregnancy? The doctor will use a type of metal clamp and crush the skull of that infant. Can you explain to me how that is caring for children?

I fully understand that no human being is perfect and by no means are they expected to be so. However, when someone is running for President of the United States, I expect them to have a good record, stand by their beliefs and I want to be able to trust them. It is so hard to trust someone who lies, and it's even worse when they lie and try to cover it up with more lies. I want what is best for our country because I want to see America thrive. I am scared that if you are elected, we will crumble. Do I agree with every single thing Trump says? No, but I would trust him with keeping America safe and providing a pathway for a brighter future.

Sincrerely,

Someone You Consider "Deplorable"

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
