I know what you're thinking: "What are you doing?" I know you're not a fan of sappy letters or anything sappy, really. But, I think you'll be okay with this one. Or at least you'll pretend like you are, you're cool like that.
Being a senior in college now, I've started to realize how fast time really has gone. It's insane to think that just three years ago on bid day I was running into Kappa crying and so excited because I got to share an amazing experience, sisterhood (the Greek kind) and another thing with you. Sorry, it's a little sister thing.
But, now I'm a senior. I am in the shoes you were in three years ago. Also, I'm probably wearing a pair of shoes you own, sorry again, that's another little sister thing. It has given me time to reflect on how grateful I am of you. Because in reality, I am truly grateful for you. You've been such a positive influence on my life and you've taught me so many things. Some of the following include:
1. Love yourself whole heartily
2. Don't put up with people's BS
3. You can't make everyone like you, but if they don't, their loss
4. How to properly drink - specifically, how to properly shotgun without looking like a fool (sorry Mom and Dad)
5. How to present yourself-- also known as how to be classy and demand respect
6. The beauty of being blunt-- honesty is a wonderful thing
7. How to be organized-- my Kate Spade planner and grades, thank you
8. How to mix prints-- stripes and floral-prints, hello!
9. How to stand up for yourself
10. How to save money
11. How to be sassy when needed
12. How to put on makeup
13. How to have it all
14. How to realize your worth
15. How to make yourself happy
16. How to ski-- well, I still am terrible but thanks for trying
17. How to find the best deal for your buck
18. How to recognize your inner and outer beauty
...and so many more.
Thank you for being one of my greatest role models and for all of your encouragement and support. I am so happy that I got to grow with you by my side. You're truly one of the coolest people I've ever known.
Thank you for putting up with me growing up and dragging me around on that blanket until I learned how to walk. You were the reason I learned so early.
Thank you for always being down to put on a concert in the living room with me for Mom and Dad.
Thank you for being my chauffeur in middle school and high school before I got my license.
Thank you for everything.
Love you lots.
Sincerely,
Me
