Dear Mom and Dad,

I have never gotten the chance to say just how much you both mean to me. You have put up with me at my best and, unfortunately, at my worst. You have held my hand through the ups and downs. You have supported me through every decision even if you didn’t agree with me. You have sacrificed so much, just so I could have what was best for me. You have shaped me into the woman I am today and I cannot thank you enough. I never took the time to tell you how I felt, or to even thank you for all that you have done, so this is for you.

Thank you for holding my hand when times got rough.

Thank you for wiping my tears even when you didn’t know what was wrong.

Thank you for supporting my dreams.

Thank you for showing me what unconditional love looks like.

Thank you for pushing me to my fullest potential.

Thank you for the laughs.

Thank you for the hugs and kisses.

Thank you for yelling at me when I was wrong.

Thank you for worrying even when I would complain about you being annoying.

Thank you for being my personal chauffeur.

Thank you for sacrificing all that you have sacrificed for me.

I could thank you for days, months and even years, and it still would not show just how grateful I am to have you both in my life. You always manage to make me feel special even when I am feeling small. You have always put your children first, and for that, I am forever grateful. You deserve so much more than this letter, and believe me — in time, I will be able to give you more. You have taught me how to love, how to care and how to be a responsible adult. Your unconditional love has put me on the journey that I am on today. You have guided me, supported me and pushed me to do what I love even if others didn't believe it was the right choice.

I am so lucky that I am able to call you both my parents. I hope I can take everything I have learned from you and bring that into my own household one day. Thank you again, from the bottom of my heart, for everything that you have done for me. I hope that I am making you proud. I love you.
