"You deserve to be thanked for so many things."

A THANK YOU LETTER TO MY PARENTS
Jordan Bowden

Being away at college is a good excuse to put the people you love the most aside. I told myself over 2 years ago that I would never let that happen, but here we are.. Missing phone calls and having to “schedule” times to go home. You see, I let my busy schedule control me sometimes and because of that, I make excuses to not make it home. But I’m here now admitting I can do better. Even with all of that, I know that you will tell me it's okay and that you understand. You deserve to be thanked for so many things.

  1. Thank you for teaching me to work hard for the things I want. You gave me everything I needed to make myself successful, but you also taught me never to accept things I didn't work for.
  2. Thank you for making me an individual first, in order to allow others in. You taught me to form my own opinions, rather than to just jump on the bandwagon and believe whatever I am told.
  3. Thank you for making me humble and never allowing me to think I am better than anyone else.
  4. Thank you for never giving up on me, and constantly reminding me how much I am loved, and how proud of me you are.
  5. Thank you for allowing me to create my future however I wanted. Never did I feel like my passions and career choices were “wrong”, or not what you wanted. As long as I was happy.
  6. Thank you for exposing me to sports and music, and supporting my decision when it came to which one I was more passionate about.
  7. Thank you for paying for all of the lessons, and instruments. And for coming to all of my performances… Even though I am sure there was many more places you could have been.
  8. Thank you for loving me unconditionally..
  9. Thank you for giving me everything I needed to become who I am today. You constantly had my back, and you deserve all of the gratitude I can offer.
  10. Lastly, Thank you for being you & never leaving my side.

Love you more than words can describe!

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
