A Letter To The Social Media Complainer

"If you are constantly complaining, you will miss out on so many opportunities. If you are unhappy with things, change them. But please, for the love of all Holy, take your complaining somewhere else."

I would like to apologize in advance about this article, because for the first time, I will be falling to a level of petty that I normally would avoid. But I have been seeing a very large amount of complaining coming from people all around me. With that being said, this is one of those typical, “rant” articles everyone passes by daily.

Here’s the deal… there will always be things to complain about. Always. But in a world where we are constantly reminded of the negativity living all around us, I like to look on the more positive side of things. No, I am not sitting here saying I don’t complain.. I, as well like a good rant session with friends.. But I will say that one thing I do not do is take it to my social media accounts. I will say, although, those of you who do educational rants.. You do you. I am glad there are people out there sharing opinions. No this is not directed at you. This is to those who complain constantly about how bad their lives are and how bad they have things. When I know in fact, you are doing just fine. If you are constantly complaining, you will miss out on so many opportunities. If you are unhappy with things, change them. But please, for the love of all Holy, take your complaining somewhere else. Reading your constant tweets and facebook posts, really just puts a damper on my day! I am sorry you feel that way, but I can not do anything about it, and it really does just annoy me.. And everyone around you. Start a blog, rant to friends more often, write in a journal.. But please.. Please take it somewhere else. I also understand that I could just unfriend you, but come on, no one wants that to actually happen. I enjoy keeping up with you and seeing all of the exciting things.. So please, next time you consider complaining about every detail of your life, consider those who have to constantly see it.

Love always,

Your annoyed facebook friend, and twitter follower.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
