Dear Mom,
I want to start off by saying thank you. Thank you for always being there, for supporting me through every decision I've made, and for being nothing but the best. You're not only one of the greatest people I know, but you work your butt off everyday for me, and I don't thank you enough. I can't imagine how hard it is playing the role of both my mother and my father, but I appreciate and admire your strength. I wouldn't want my life any other way, and even though I sometimes complain and become curious, know that I would never change how I grew up.
Thank you for raising me the way you did, for teaching me right from wrong, and for loving me unconditionally. I know I can be a pain sometimes, and I know we bicker, but I look forward to making up with you and laughing at stupid things as we sit on the couch eating cheese and crackers. Hanging out with you is one of my favorite things to do, and even though you seem to think I'm never home, know that when I am I love spending my time with you.
Your strength for raising me on your own is so admirable. I think about how strong you are every day and how I wouldn't be able to do it if I were in your position. You inspire me to be the strongest person I can be because watching you work your butt off everyday shows how much you care to support me. I am so extremely lucky and grateful that you are my mother. Could you imagine having a different child? Because I literally can't picture my life without someone as understanding as you. You're supportive, protective, wonderful and beautiful and I wouldn't change a thing about you.
Not only are you my mother, but you're my best friend, my rock, my therapist and more. I come to you for love, for advice, for comfort and for help and you never cease to disappoint. I can talk to you about anything and that's one of my favorite things about you. You're never judgmental towards my problems and you're always reassuring me that things will always get better.
The role of a mother is to love and protect and you do the job perfectly. There isn't a time where I don't feel safe and there isn't a time where I don't love you. No matter what we're going through or how I am acting, know through my (sometimes) attitude, I love you endlessly and I can't picture things any differently.
I know being at college has been a big change for us and hanging out every night isn't a thing, but I am only 15 minutes up the road, and a visit from you is the highlight of my week.
So, Mom, thank you. I can't say it enough. This article is dedicated to you and your admirable strength. I love you more!
