Friendships are the best things in life.
A lot of times, friends just come and go in your life. Even best friends come and go. It's just the natural order of friendships. Usually, there's no real negative reason to no longer being friends. You just stop seeing each other for one reason or another. But when you have a bad friendship, you begin to really appreciate the real friends around you.
You have short friendships. The ones that you have fond memories of. The person that was there for you when you needed them most and slowly drifted away. The ones that were there for you even if they aren't anymore.
Then you have the not so good friendships.
The toxic person that you slowly got away from or the one that you need to get away from. The person who changed from being a nice person to a not so nice person.
The best though is the friendships that last. The friends that you want to be friends with forever. The friends that want to be your friend forever. The ones that call you when they need to talk to someone rather the reason be good or bad.
The ones that you feel like yourself around. The ones that have stuck around. The ones that are still your friend even if you no longer live near each other.
To the real friends in life, thank you.
If you were here right now, we would give you a hug. Because you deserve a hug.
You don't really know how much you are appreciated because you have never been told or you don't think what you did is amazing or your friend never realized how great you are.
You always try and answer phone calls even if it's two in the morning. You are willing to take care of us when we are sick and be there when we cry. You've seen us at our worst and our best and still love us. You've been like a sibling (that maybe we never had).
Thank you to the real friends in life. The ones that plan to be stuck with us. The ones that understand us more than we know ourselves half the time. But most importantly, the ones that are there because they want to be there.
I hope you know that we are there for you too.
Love, your friends.
