A Letter to My Future Little

With recruitment right around the corner, the idea of finding the perfect little has been floating around my head almost constantly. I have anxiously texted my big over the summer freaking out wondering how we became friends so fast and claiming that there's no way I'll be able to find a little that works as well as her and I do together.

Of course, everything will turn out exactly how it's supposed to, but just in case, here's what my little needs to know ahead of time.

Dear Little,

If you're reading this, it means that you have just become a part of the greatest thing to ever happen to you. Understand that after our twin star date I promptly became obsessed with you because you are perfect. We will spend countless hours sitting in Moe's/Taziki's/Chic-Fil-A talking about literally every single minor detail of our day and not judging each other for being slightly dramatic and extremely nuts. You'll know all about where I grew up (and again, you will not judge me for it) and I'll know all about that one time your psycho aunt ruined Christmas dinner. Every event from Chapter to Buffet Bash and Pep Supper will be spent together as well as pretty much all other free time we have (no shame). At non-Theta events we will absolutely have to take pictures kiting together, because otherwise how will anyone else know that we're actually sisters? When you're sick I'll bring you those weird snacks you always crave and your favorite movie and we will not move from the couch until you feel better. All of my God-awful jokes will receive at least a smile, if not a laugh, because we both know I'm actually not funny at all, but you feel bad because I try so hard. I will know you better than you know yourself and vice versa and we will love and hate each other for it. I'll be the first one to know well, everything, and we will share details we could probably go the rest of our lives not knowing. I promise not only to screenshot every ugly snapchat and use it against you on your birthday, but also reply with an even worse picture for your collection. We will give each other the best advice possible even if we don't agree with it, knowing that it's what the other needs to hear. Any AM study sesh at Addlestone will be accompanied by one another even if we end up spending half of the time on Facebook. Clothes will be borrowed (and when I say borrowed, I mean stolen) drinks will be mixed, laughs will be had, and memories will be made. Last but not least, I will be there for you every step of the way; through all the inevitable boy problems, school stress, drunken nights, home sickness, highs and lows and everything in between. As my little you're not just my sorority sister, you are my best friend -- and I don't care how corny we are because we're in it together.

Sincerely,

Big

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Being Invisible The Best Super Power

The best superpower ever? Being invisible of course. Imagine just being able to go from seen to unseen on a dime. Who wouldn't want to have the opportunity to be invisible? Superman and Batman have nothing on being invisible with their superhero abilities. Here are some things that you could do while being invisible, because being invisible can benefit your social life too.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
