A Letter To The Man I Want To Marry
Danielle DiFeo

To My Future Husband,

I want you to know one thing before you marry me, I’m a stubborn, strong willed person. But there’s also something else I want you to know, I will love you till the day that I die. You stole my heart in May of senior year, when we first started talking. You made me fall for you all over again when I first met you in June. Now we’re in December and finishing our first semester as freshmen in college.

We’ve tried dating twice before this and it wasn’t the right time. One night I fell asleep and I couldn’t bear to wait any longer to be with you. I love you so much. You asked me to be your girlfriend that night and I couldn’t say no. You had my heart, and you’ve had it since the beginning. I fell, and I fell hard. But do I regret any of it? No. I simply love you for you.

You’ve been by my side through so many things. You were there while I was recovering from tonsil surgery and recently you came and sat with my mom while I had knee surgery. You brought me cookies and that unicorn I really wanted for a while. You also sent me a dozen red roses to my house to help me smile regardless of the pain. Seeing your face when I woke up in recovery was the most amazing thing. I couldn’t stop smiling.

Remember my birthday? You surprised me by coming into my class with a dozen red roses, knowing they’re my favorite, and in front of everyone kissed me. It was a magical experience. Right then and there I knew we were together, but it was just never official. You brought me a giant donut and put a candle in it and sang me happy birthday.

You’ve treated me better than anyone else has. The beginning was rough between us because we were both immature, but college helped us grow, not just by ourselves, but together. In a matter of 7 months, I’ve grown to realize more about myself because of you. Because of you, I don’t feel alone, and I don’t feel as sad. You always make me smile, no matter what.

Although things were rough, and I friend zoned you at a point, you never gave up. You always waited around for me. Slowly but surely I saw that and saw how much you loved me. I denied my own feelings and messed around with other guys, only to find out, it was you I wanted all along.

So here’s what I have to say…

I love you forever, regardless of how you look or how you are. I love you from your head to your toes. I love your small feet and your small hands. I love the way you laugh so loudly and it’s so cute. I love the way you randomly dance to music and make a fool of yourself. I love the way you laugh and cheer me up. I love the butterflies you give me, but most importantly, I love how you make me feel wanted. You make me feel loved, so loved. I wear that promise ring every day and I look at it every time I get upset. But there’s one last thing I haven’t said yet. I can’t wait till the day I marry you. I know it has to be you. They say you have 3 loves in your life; the first love, the second love that teaches you lessons and puts you through pain, and the last love that you know you’ll be with forever. You’re my third and final love. I’m never letting you go. Because I can’t live without you and don’t feel complete without you, I can’t imagine my life without you. I can’t imagine never having met you.

From the random drives and funny car rides, to the videos of us joking around, I can’t imagine my life to be spent with anyone else. When I need you, you’re always there. If I text you at 3 am, you answer right away. I need you more than I need myself. So with my final words, I can’t wait to marry you. I can’t wait to spend the rest of my life with you. I can’t wait to have kids with you one day. You’re the Batman to my Robin and you’re my forever. I love you.

-Your Future Wife

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
