Dear Future Husband,
Well, if we're married, you lived through my brother and my best friend's interrogations, so congratulations! I'm so proud of you! I don't know if I'm lucky enough to have already met you, or if I'll meet you years from now, but I really hope I'm not 50 when I meet you.
By now we've had some great times and some bad times. You've probably seen me cry 80 trillion times, but that's totally OK because I've probably laughed 10 times more than I've cried. I've probably already made you binge-watch "Revenge" on Netflix like 30 times, but we can always watch one of your shows too, are you a "Prison Break" kind of guy?
Hopefully you've gotten used to the fact I hate making my bed and throw my clothes everywhere when I'm getting ready in the morning. I won't always tell you when something is bothering me, or when you do something that annoys me. Frankly, I don't always communicate like I should and when we need to work something out, I might procrastinate until we absolutely have to talk about it. Don't ever think it's because I don't care because I truly do, communication is just not something I'm the best at. You've probably also witnessed my fear of birds and you've seen me try to nap my stress away. You've met my lovely grandmother (who probably said something witty, yet totally inappropriate and mean; it's OK, you'll get used to it). I don't always know how to let others lead and I like to do things for myself (you're more than welcome to take out the trash, cut the grass and put gas in my car, though). Fortunately, you've also seen my family means the world to me. You've witnessed that I always try to do what's right and that I'll support you through all of your endeavors.
Now, that I've described what everyday life with me is like, I'm going to tell you how grateful I am that you're a part of my life. So first, let me say thank you for loving my flaws and all and for never trying to change me.
Thank you for loving me through the arguments, listening to me complain and freak out about the most minuscule things.
Thank you for encouraging me to remain positive when I complain about those minuscule things.
Thank you for eating my vegetarian meals (well it's either that, cook your own food, or starve, but whatevs) Side note: You're more than welcome to become vegetarian.
Thank you for not judging my bad shopping habits, or my Chipotle obsession.
Thank you for loving my family just as much as I do because they mean the world to me, I promise I'll do the same for yours.
I'm not always going to be the best wife, mostly because I'm not always the best person. I've never really had a good example of a traditional family and a happy life-long marriage, but I pray you did, so we have some kind of guidance. I'm going to make a lot of mistakes, but I'm only human. More importantly, I'm glad I get to make those mistakes and many more memories with you by my side.
P.S. This will be our dog.
Sincerely,
Your best friend.
