As we get older, periodically we will look back to where we came from. We will wonder how we changed, but still in some forms, remained the same. How the challenges of life shaped us, and when looking, we will remember the people who got us through during the different steps of the way ... our friends. Even if we no longer talk to them, they were once a big part of your life and made you who you are today.
1.To my elementary school friends
You were some of my earliest friendships. When life was just crayons and stickers; I want to thank you for the birthday parties, the laughs, the moments on the playground that are long gone. I was taught the basic level of friendship from you. Though you guys are for the most part long gone, I will always remember the times we shared.
2. To my middle school friends
You guys taught me some important life lessons. This was the age of "Love story," and One time. I will always remember the middle school dances, the inside jokes, our many marching band practices. You guys taught me how to dream as we started to begin to get a taste of the real world. You guys showed me what it really means to be a friend, and you were a part of some of the happiest times in my life. I would not change the activity nights, the after school clubs, the inside jokes that last to this day, or the moments for a second.
3. To my high school friends
Our time came to a close when we headed off to the start of the rest of our lives in 2015. However, you are the group of friends that taught me the most important lessons in life. Our friendships were tested the most during these years. As we headed for the future we changed as people. You taught me the lessons of, not all friendships are true, no matter the length of time. That not everyone is worthy to be a friend. There were many of you I lost along the way , but some new ones were made. But thanks to these years I learned who my true friends were.
4. College friends
You guys are currently my friends at the newest stage of my life. You are the era I am living in right now. But I want to thank you for all you've done so far. From the late night vent sessions in my room, to the food runs, to the parties.
5. And to the ones that are all of the above
Congrats guys, we made it. I hope our friendship continues for many years to come. But we stuck it out through the fights, and the good times and the long marching band practices. We have cried on each others shoulders through the breakups, deaths, and whatever else life has thrown our way. You few hold some of the dearest positions in my heart that could never be replaced. You have seen me at my best and at my worst and every moment in between. I will never be able to thank you enough for that. In a few years who knows, we could be a part of the bridal parties of each others weddings, or even watching our own children develop their own lasting friendships like these ones. You are my family that no matter how old we get will never be left behind.
No matter what, I'm thankful for the time spent with all of you , and like "Wicked" says "Because I knew you I have been changed for Good."
