Dear Dunkin’ Donuts,
As a college student, I consume a lot of your products. Specifically, I consume a lot of caramel iced coffee (with cream and sugar). My second year of college has recently come to end and I want to thank you for giving me the energy to make it to my 9 a.m. Spanish class, helping me write many last minute papers, and keeping me company as I studied for finals I probably should have started studying for much earlier. You are truly a gift to this world and I would not have made it through this school year without you.
Like I said, I just finished my sophomore year of college. This makes me wise enough to know not to take an 8 a.m. class. However, I am dumb enough to still take a 9 a.m. class. I quickly learned when you don’t want to wake up that 9 a.m. feels just as early as 8 a.m. Your coffee gave me the energy I needed to sit in the front row of my Spanish class every day. No matter how tired I was, I never missed a class because I knew if I got out of bed, you would be waiting for me just a few miles down the road. I sat in my 55-minute Spanish class three times a week and successfully pretended I knew what was going on. You made that possible. Gracias, Dunkin Donuts.
When I didn’t stop for iced coffee in the morning, I made sure to visit you later in the day. As an English major, I have to write papers about boring books several times a month. I’m a world-class procrastinator but you made completing 7-page papers at the last minute no problem. I’m not sure if the caffeine and the sugar actually made me stay awake, but, either way, it helped. I completed, and received high grades on, many papers which were written about books I never even read. I’m pretty sure there is a permanent water stain on my desk from where I sat my medium iced coffee cup. With you by my side, I was unstoppable.
During finals week, you helped me tremendously. I spent many hours sitting at my desk teaching myself conjugations of Spanish verbs and reading books about medieval travel. If I was too busy studying to make a stop for my daily iced coffee, my mom was kind enough to deliver it to me. If it wasn’t for your several convenient locations on her way home from work, I would have spent many nights tired and thirsty.
I owe a lot to you, Dunkin’ Donuts. You have been there for me during early mornings and late nights. You motivated me to get out of bed and encouraged me to stay awake. I’m not sure I would have made it through my second year of college withoutyou. I hope this letter lets you know how much I appreciate all that you have done for me.
Thank you, Dunkin’ Donuts, for being you,
Maggie
