Let me start off by saying that while I have never supported, agreed with, or even liked Hillary Clinton she ran a tough campaign, she is a fighter, and I would not wish on her supporters what all Trump supporters are feeling right now. You would think because Donald Trump won and he won and fair and square, that his supporters, me, would feel ecstatic like everything is finally going to get to better. But instead of being overwhelmed with relief, we are left feeling beaten down, verbally attacked, and just drained. Staying up until 3 am to watch our candidate give his victory speech was tiring enough, but I think it is the treatment we received from liberals after that really have us drained us even more.
I am going to say this now because apparently is not clear to liberals. I voted for Donald Trump and I am not racist. I am not a sexist. I am not an islamophobic. And I am not an educated, a red neck, or a bigot. I am an American who was sick of the status quo of Washington politicians. I am sick of politicians preaching political correctness, taking away our first and second amendment rights in the name of tolerance, and I am sick of people like Hillary and her supporters telling me that I need to be more tolerant of other people's beliefs when they are the most viscous mean spirited people I have met this election season. I voted for Donald Trump because he will protect my rights, our country, and our way of life. It is you and not me characterizing Trump supporters based on their skin, their religion, and their beliefs. It is you and not me that fuels the tensions of racism when you stereotype Trump voters as old white rich men. Last time I checked I was a female and 19 years old. And not to mention probably the millions of women and minorities that voted for Trump. No one should ever be ashamed because they exercised their right to vote. This is a democracy where every citizen has the right to vote for whoever they want. So no Hillary Clinton supporters, you do not have to shame Trump voters because they exercised their right to vote. And no, you do not have to have classes and tests canceled because you need to cope with Trump nation. I have an idea, how about you grow up and work towards uniting with Trump supporters. Donald Trump won a free and fair, democratic election. You canceling classes, protesting, and burning the flag is not going to change the fact that he is the 45th President. Your immaturity is not going to change that. No matter how many flags you burn and how long you take to "cope" with this historical event, Donald Trump is America's president.
So how about instead of doing what you apparently despise so much about Donald Trump, stereotyping and being intolerant of the opposing view, you try and make this work. If you want to make this presidency work, we will work with you. I know you think us Trump supporters are a bunch of violent rednecks but we want to work with you and have a peaceful and successful four years with him in office. But we are not going to sacrifice our beliefs and rights to make you feel better about Hillary Clinton losing fair and square and Donald Trump winning fair and square. If you really care so much about this country as you say you do its time to accept the results, move on, and work together towards making this country great again. We can't do this alone, so we might as well figure out how to work together now before it is too late. We should embrace this event, not fear it, we live in the greatest country on earth where our government can step in and remove the president if need be. Instead of spewing hate towards Trump supporters maybe you should realize it is exactly that divisive, name calling that lost Clinton the election.
And to all your Trump supporters do not be ashamed. Keep your head held high. Be proud of our candidate and all that he is going to do to be with the American people. It is hard to be constantly beaten down in a way that the criticizer supposedly hates. It is hard to be surrounded by liberals in college who have no respect for opposing points of view, who get offended by every little thing. Do not back down in the face of criticism, keep fighting. It is worth it. Don't let people shame you into not stating your beliefs, this is America where we are free to support who we want. We know the man Donald Trump is and, hopefully, the party of tolerance will stop whining for two seconds, to see that man the way we see him. Because we will all be glad when we decide to unite instead of divide.
God Bless America and let's make America great again.
