Dear College Besties,
As finals come to a close, we are all having mixed feelings about leaving school. We're excited about sleeping in our own bed, home cooked meals, and no classes. We're also pretty upset, though, because it means we are no longer in walking distance of one another. No more spontaneous dance parties, movie nights, or long library sessions together for four months -- that last one is more bittersweet.
We won't be completely apart, though. Expect tons of Snapchats of what I'm doing all the time, which will probably be working. I'll be constantly texting you with what I should wear, the stupid funny things that I find on the internet, and any sort of problem that I have because I seriously love you guys. You have become the best friends I could have ever asked for and I could never thank you enough. I can't imagine going through college without you by my side. You keep me grounded, keep me sane and happy. I've made the best memories with the best of friends.
The school year is ending, so I won’t be seeing your beautiful faces every day. I won’t have anyone to grab dinner with at the crappy DC or rant about my terrible professors and the boatload of assignments they've given me. Don’t get me wrong, I’m beyond excited to reunite with my friends back home. Summer will be the amazing with my home pals by my side, but I will feel your absence every day. I will wonder where you guys, my college friends, are at and what you're doing. I will wonder if life is going well for you all. I guarantee something will remind me of “that one time” -- and you should expect calls from me explaining exactly what that was.
Every day I was able to see you guys and I never got tired of hearing your crazy stories, even if you've already told me it before and the same goes for the opposite way. You guys get my humor and like the same things I do. So when I am sitting on my phone almost to the point of crying because I saw a dog in a onesie with a binky in his mouth, you won't think I'm stupid or overreacting because you'll do the same thing (come on, it is pretty darn cute).
Thank you for not judging me and for doing stupid things with me like walking across town just to get some pizza. Thank you for staying up all night with me so I can cry about how terrible life is. Thank you for giving me advice, even the harsh ones that I know I need to hear. Thank you for being my best friends.
Love,
Your College Bestie
