Dear Best Friend,
Words cannot express how much I really appreciate you! Thank you for supporting me, advising me, letting me vent to you, letting me wear your clothes, eating with me no matter what time of the day or night it is, shopping with me, laughing with me until our stomachs hurt, and for just being your crazy self.
When senior year comes around, everyone dreams about going off to college with his or her best friend. God had different plans for us than what we envisioned, so we ended up at two different colleges. Even though it would have been nice to take on this new chapter of our lives together, it just did not happen that way. I could not be any happier than I am now, and I know that you feel the same exact way. We are going to college to get a degree and to do what we want to do with our lives. As long as we are happy, that is all that matters.
I honestly have no idea where I would be without you. Some weeks it is difficult to keep in contact with each other every single day, but your random “have a good day” text messages are exactly what I need sometimes to keep persevering. I need those "good luck" and “I hope your classes are going well” messages. I will forever be grateful for those text messages that I receive from you.
My all-time favorite text message is when you tell me you are coming home for the weekend. Guess what that means? Girls day, which usually consists of ordering too much food so we can have a midnight snack. The night usually turns into us watching Redbox movies or talking until we fall asleep. But I would not have it any other way.
An enormous thank you also goes to your family for letting your home be a second home for me, for loving me as their own, inviting me to all the family occasions, feeding me and for always dealing with our crazy shenanigans. I could not ask for a better second mom to give me “come to Jesus" meetings. Your family also gave me the brother I never had and another grandma whom I love dearly.
I cannot believe that we were once little girls in elementary school; now we are both in our second semesters of college. Time sure does fly. Next thing you know, we will be graduating college. God definitely made no mistake when He made us best friends. I could not imagine having someone else as my best friend to go through life with. I love you, honey!
Love,
Your Best Friend
