Within our lives, we're so fortunate to have the friends that we do, that sometimes we don't realize it, or even worse take it for granted.
None of us tell our friends how lucky we are to have them, or thank them for the things that they do for us everyday. We simply just assume that they know or that we will tell them another time.
But as I've gotten older, I've seen that we may not get another time to tell someone.
As cliche as it may sound, life is a gift and everyday that we wake up is another day that we should feel lucky and blessed that we were given it.
That's why everyday you should tell the people how much they mean to you, make sure they know it, because yes you may have tomorrow or next week, but you also may not.
Here's a thank you letter to all the best friends we've had, the one's that have stuck by our sides when they probably shouldn't have and have given us memories that'll last a lifetime.
To my best friends,
I want to start by saying thank you for always putting up with me and dealing with all the non-sense I bring. You've dealt with my unpredictable moods, my phone calls at three in the morning and always letting me get my way with watching strictly romantic movies.
Thank you for never slapping me in the face (like I deserve) when you tell me not to do something because it's not going to end well, or I'll get hurt. Knowing me and my stubbornness, I do it anyway only realize how right you actually were.
Thank you for the nights we spend drinking wine, watching movies and stuffing our faces with ice cream. As much as we hate ourselves for these nights when we see that fit girl on the beach, it's totally worth the necessary consumption of calories.
Thank you for always tagging along on adventures, or always being down for spontaneous things. They'll be memories that I'll find myself looking back and laughing at in ten years.
Thank you for always being honest with me. No matter how much it may hurt me, you've always told me the truth.
Thank you for always be my number one supporter in anything I do.
Thank you for helping me whether it'd be with homework, advice or pulling the trigger for me (only true friends would do this.)
Thank you for letting me cry and understanding that all I have to do is let it out.
Thank you for blasting music with me and scream sing out the lyrics to 'closer.' I'm sure the old couple in the car next to us at the red light loved it.
Out of all the thank you's I've listed, I want to thank you most importantly for being my best friend and partner in crime.
Love always,
Your best friend
