So there I was, completely parched and in serious need of a caffeine boost. After weighing the abysmal options within walking distance from my office (the options at 7-Eleven simply were not cutting it today) I decided I was in need of a 'Bucks visit. Now, I'm not exactly a frequent "Starbucks-er" but I'm definitely not ever in a position to turn down an iced green tea or a chai latte when the craving strikes. I'm telling you, there's just something about Starbucks' iced chai lattes.

Now, I'm unsure what exactly is in their chai latte recipe, but I'm convinced that it will change the lives of all it comes into contact with. This is no joke. Nothing turns a day around quite like a perfectly seasoned beverage. You can't tell me that you wouldn't love something that tastes like Christmas in a freaking cup.

After sitting in the drive-thru line for what felt like an absolute eternity (it appears that the car in front of my had an entire office building to provide refreshments for..) I was finally handed my ice-cold Venti chai latte.

And I enjoyed it for approximately two minutes. Seriously. Now I know I was thirsty, and maybe I took exceptionally large sips, but there is NO way I finished a 24-ounce chai latte in two minutes.

Oh, but I did.

I hadn't even made it back to my desk at work before I was shaking my ice filled Starbucks cup so hard that I could've been playing a tambourine.

Is it just me or is the amount of ice in Starbucks iced beverages absolutely ridiculous? I paid $4.80 for a "latte" that was two-thirds full of ice cubes. Seriously?

Disgusted at my waste of almost five dollars, and my unquenched thirst, I decided to do a little investigation. A quick Google search taught me that I could make as many as FIVE chai lattes at home for the cost of one bought beverage.

Not only that, but it appears that the company also enjoys false advertising. Take this article from CNN. Starbucks claims that there is "24 ounces of fluid" in each Venti latte. However, there are only 14 ounces of the actual drink. The rest is ice.

It also appears that I am not the only one upset by the lack of an actual "drink" in my Starbucks cup. A Starbucks customer in Chicago, Illinois was so outraged by his drink that he set about suing the company. The lawsuit claims could even exceed 5 million dollars.

I guess that's one way to get your money back. Regardless, I don't particularly enjoy paying obscene amounts for common ingredients found inside my refrigerator. I guess the selection at 7-Eleven will have to do from now on.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
