I never expected to gain a second family when I started
college.
I never expected to laugh, cry, yell, or vent with girls I didn’t know
six months ago.
I have been blessed to adventure, and travel with an amazing
group of girls. Every moment has been essential to our friendship and I
wouldn’t change any part, even the rough times. So here are a hand full of
thank you to the most wonderful friends I never thought I would have gained.
Thank you for laughing at my really bad sense of humor.
Thank you for understanding when the frustration boils over.
Thank you for all the hugs, even when I thought I didn’t need one.
Thank you for the deep conversations that have me, again, thanking you guys for the best life advice.
Thank you all for all those little moments that make us fall over laughing.
You guys don’t care what others think, thank you for being weird and spontaneous with me.
Thank you for not judging me when I don't have a filter and things slip out that are completely inappropriate and off-hand.
Sharing food, thank you from the bottom of my happy tummy (this is very important to me).
Thank you for being honest and blunt.
Thank you for caring about good days as much as the bad days.
Cuddles, thank you for filling in for my dog.
When guys and life suck, thank you for listening and for the chocolate.
Road trips, road trips, ROAD TRIPS thank you for the best journeys.
Nothing is wrong with confidence, thank you for helping me believe in myself.
For when I haven’t been strong, thank you for being my rock.
Accountability is key, thank you for helping me when its feels like faith has left me.
Thank you for always listening, even though you have heard it all before.
Every one of those girls holds such a special place in my heart and in my life. There is so much more that should be said but have no words for. When you have a special group of people enter into your life, it changes your life. I will always have support, I will always cherish the connections I have made. They are my people. It took almost 20 years to find where I belonged but it has been well worth the wait.
The goal for this recognition is for you all to reflect on your own friendships.
Do these “thank yous” apply to your own
life?
Do you see these things present within your own friendships?
Can you
think of any similar situations with your own group of friends?
If so, be sure to thank them in real life. One thing that is uncertain is when the last sun will rise, don’t be uncertain about who means the most to you. Let them know what they mean to you, show your appreciation daily.
The people in our lives may only be around for a little while, so make every moment count.
