Love is an intense feeling of deep affection. We fall in love with people. We fall in love with things, but at what point did a feeling of deep affection get reduced to such a simple statement? It's been reduced to three simple words. I love you, I love this or I love that. We leave it tucked into this statement as though speaking it is enough. Once we've said those three simple words, we have done our part. Our mission is complete. We have expressed our love for something. For it to be one of the worlds most complicated emotions, we sure have simplified our way of expressing it. I don't like that, do you?
I believe it's time we be consumed with love instead of just simply "in" it. To be consumed is to be engaged fully and to enjoy avidly. We root our feelings into the ground of comfort, scared to fully express our souls in fear of the heartache that may follow. We've stopped giving anything or anyone our all. That needs to come to an end. Be utterly and completely consumed in the things and people you love. Give it your all. Wear your heart on your sleeve. The feelings you have are not a burden. They are the brush strokes to the portrait of your soul. Paint the image for the world to see. Paint it the you want to. Stop holding back. Show everyone who you are and what you feel. Love like you've got nothing to lose and everything to gain. Because you do. It's a completely different world when you ditch the fears, break out of your comfort zone and love your life like you want to. Find what makes you happy and give it everything you've got. Love for you, and no one else. Stop suffocating your heart and drowning your soul. They are begging to be free. Let them swim. Let yourself swim, and once you start, just keep swimming.
