Year after year, Leonardo Dicaprio has been deprived of his entitlement. Years have went by and he has the most amazing performances without an award to show for it, besides the devotion of friends. Movie after movie, he has yet to disappoint in any of his films. Were they for nothing? Heck no, they weren't! Leo is an actor because he loves acting; he loves making movies. He was always a winner to himself. He didn't need an award to set the value of his greatness. The joy of impressing fans is greatness enough for him.
He's been quoted saying that he doesn't do it for the prizes, but because he loves it. He also says that "If you can do what you do best and be happy, you're further along in life than most people," thus showing he knew how far he had come without an award to prove that.
His amazing performances in shows like Titanic, Whats Eating Gilbert Grape, Romeo and Juliet, Inception and many, many others have turned into classics. They've become a part of popular culture. For countless years people have fallen in love with Leo and his acting. He has become a great actor and has gained the acceptance of millions of fans. However, 2016, made HISTORY! Over 22 years of attendance at the Oscars Ceremony with six nominations and Leo has finally been granted his Oscar for Best Actor for his movie, The Revenant. Leonardo was given a 30 second standing ovation after he was announced as the winner. Once he was on stage to obtain his award, the gratitude showed on his face. He knew he deserved it and his time had finally come.
Leonardo will continue to show greatness in his acting for the years to come, I'm sure. I look forward to all his upcoming films. As of right now, lets all take a moment and be grateful that after all these years and all the efforts put in by Leo, he has finally been given his award. Finally made history! All of the amazing films that he was cast in and after all the years of devotion to his career. He puts in his all and doesn't disappoint. Thank you Leonardo Dicaprio for all of your amazing performances and the ones yet to come. Thank you for never letting us, your fans, down. Thank you for all the wonderful laughs and cries and awestruck emotions you've given to your fans. Keep up the amazing work and don't ever stop. Continue to act, and in your own words, "The good thing about acting is that it always keeps you on your toes... It's not like any other job where you can go in and do the same thing as yesterday."
Stay different and keep at it. Again, Congratulations!
