Lena Dunham Is NOT A Psychopath

Another person who receives unnecessary hate for being themselves.

Lena Dunham Is NOT A Psychopath

So I was watching interviews on youtube starring Lena Dunham. On a video, this guy who called one of the raddest women in our generation, a psychopath on a random youtube video. It didn't end there, though, many people wrote horrific comments about her such as:

Being an obese sister molester is not sexy

or

I hope Lena moves to Canada no matter what happens

First off, I’d like to begin with the declaration of her move to Vancouver if Donald Trump wins presidency. There have been many people with the same promise to move to another state if trump wins but yet we’re twiddling our thumbs and posting hate because she decides to share the same promise too. There are over thousands of people who have claimed Canada is a better world without trump, yet we're hating on Lena? During Super Tuesday, there was a spike in google searches on how to move to Canada.

Moving on from the Trump hate, a huge uproar of saying she is evil is the claim she molested her sister. This is is some kind of cruel and sick joke, because Lena was seven-years-old when the incident took place. She was playing a trick on her younger sister, and did not know any better. There was no sort of molestation happening in that scene in her book, Not that Kind of girl, so it is unnecessary and ignorant to accuse her of molesting a young child.

Personally, I’m sick and tired of all the hate that is spewed upon anyone on social media. I was just watching a video on youtube of someone calling her a psychopath, and people consistently calling her a molester who should be thrown in jail. It’s not right to go about calling anyone a psychopath. It’s cruel.

I’m defending Lena because she deserves more than accusations spewed from one scene in a book she wrote. A book that made it on the New York Times Best Sellers List. A book that has inspired many people(including me) to be more comfortable with my body. Lena is comfortable with expressing herself and her beliefs. She doesn’t do it in a way that’s hurting anyone, but instead she’s trying to lift up other women, so they too can feel better and stronger about themselves.

She is an author, a tv show writer, an actress, and a feminist. She is actively involved in the election, as we know by her promise to move away when Trump becomes president and her recent declaration of vowing to support Hillary Clinton. She is a woman of empowerment. A woman of integrity, and is someone who strives to work towards her goals. Just this past year she has created with Jenni Konner, Lenny Letters, which is a feminist arts newsletter.

She aiming to benefit the world in some way to help women feel empowered in our society. Lena does not deserve the hate for being who she is. She a strong woman in the limelight who should be thanked for her honesty and courage.

She is just another person stating her beliefs, and so I would like to say once again: Lena Dunham is not a psychopath.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
