"Laughter is the best medicine" We are all familiar with this quote. I for one agree with this short, sweet and to the point statement. Think about it: having a good laugh helps us to feel better when we are feeling down or angry about something. Kind of like how taking medicine helps us to feel better when we are sick. I do enjoy having a good laugh. In fact, I can laugh at something that happened years ago. Yep, you read that right. I can literally burst into laughter out of nowhere thinking back to something I found funny. People may look at me like I have three heads, but I don’t mind because in my opinion, laughter is a cure for feelings of stress, sadness, or anger. Here are some of the things I do when I am in the mood to get my funny bone tickled:

1. Listen to or watch other people laugh.

Yes, laughter is contagious. Whenever I have laughing spells (or laugh attacks as I call them), everyone else around me starts laughing, which in turn makes me laugh even harder. If you want more proof than that, here is a link to a video called “Skype Laughter Chain”. Warning: this video may cause moments of uncontrollable laughter. Viewer discretion is advised.

2. Ask someone to make funny faces

They are called “funny” faces for a reason. I know it isn’t much, but sometimes it’s the little things that make me laugh. After all, a little goes a long way, right?

3. Watch people ride the “sling shot” ride

Don’t get me started on this. Just thinking about it is enough to make me smile and eventually break the silence by falling out laughing.

4. Think back to something funny that happened in the past

As I mentioned before, I can laugh about something that happened years ago. We have all had something funny happen to us or someone we know. If you need a good laugh, think about that certain funny thing that happened a while back. Trust me, it works. Well, if you’re easily amused like me.

These are some of the things I do when the mood strikes to have a laugh attack. Here is my definition of “laugh attack”:

Laugh attack (noun) - a moment in which one starts laughing and can’t stop for the life of them. Side effects may include bending over, the inability to speak, and “craughing” (crying and laughing).

Whenever you are feeling sad, stressed out, or angry, remember to have a good laugh. It might just help you to get in a better, happier mood. What are some of the things you do when you need to laugh? Let me know in the comments!

I think the hardest thing about going away to college is figuring out how to become an adult. Leaving a household where your parents took care of literally everything (thanks, Mom!) and suddenly becoming your own boss is overwhelming. I feel like I'm doing a pretty good job of being a grown-up, but once in awhile I do something that really makes me feel like I'm #adulting. Twenty-somethings know what I'm talking about.

I went to a small high school, like 120-people-in-my-graduating-class small. It definitely had some good and some bad, and if you also went to a small high school, I’m sure you’ll relate to the things that I went through.

1. If something happens, everyone knows about it

Who hooked up with whom at the party? Yeah, heard about that an hour after it happened. You failed a test? Sorry, saw on Twitter last period. Facebook fight or, God forbid, real fight? It was on half the class’ Snapchat story half an hour ago. No matter what you do, someone will know about it.

Chandler Bing

I'm assuming that we've all heard of the hit 90's TV series, Friends, right? Who hasn't? Admittedly, I had pretty low expectations when I first started binge watching the show on Netflix, but I quickly became addicted.

Without a doubt, Chandler Bing is the most relatable character, and there isn't an episode where I don't find myself thinking, Yup, Iam definitely the Chandler of my friend group.

Working with the public can be a job, in and of itself. Some people are just plain rude for no reason. But regardless of how your day is going, always having to be in the best of moods, or at least act like it... right?

1. When a customer wants to return a product, hands you the receipt, where is printed "ALL SALES ARE FINAL" in all caps.

2. Just because you might be having a bad day, and you're in a crappy mood, doesn't make it okay for you to yell at me or be rude to me. I'm a person with feelings, just like you.

3. People refusing to be put on hold when a customer is standing right in front of you. Oh, how I wish I could just hang up on you!
