DŌ Is The Latest Must-See Food Joint In NYC

New York City is full of food. From vendors on the street to classy and pricey restaurants, you will always find any kind of food you are hungry for. One of the latest food joints to hit the streets of the city has immediately become a must-see for everyone. If you’ve got a sweet tooth, then you will definitely want to seek out DŌ, a new shop that sells exactly that: cookie dough.

After hearing about DŌ on Facebook, I decided that I must find it during my visit to New York. DŌ has become so popular that people have to line up across the street to even get inside the small shop. After entering the adorable shop, patrons than can see the bar of various cookie dough flavors the shop has. It is very similar to an ice cream confectionery, but instead of ice cream being scooped out for you, the workers serve scoops of cookie dough.

The dough sold at DŌ is all safe to eat as well. They use pasteurized eggs and heat-treated flour so there is no chance of salmonella. They also offer a number of flavors that are vegan and/or gluten-free. Your dough flavor(s) of choice can be served to you just like ice cream. You can add toppings and have it in a bowl or a cone. DŌ even offers a selection of cones: french vanilla waffle, birthday cake waffle, red velvet waffle, even a chocolate chip cookie cone, made with their signature recipe.

When we visited DŌ, we were first shocked by having to go across the street just to be able to go inside. But the wait was definitely worth it. The inside of the shop is so cute, and all the workers are incredibly nice, but I suppose I would be too if I worked in a cookie dough shop. I got a scoop of two of their signature combinations, confetti, and chocolate dream, in a red velvet waffle cone. Though I grabbed a spoon, I ended up having to just eat it like an ice cream cone. It was only two scoops of cookie dough, but they were hearty scoops. None of us could actually finish our dough. It was very delicious but just sweet enough that it was hard to finish. All in all, I am very glad that we were able to fit it into our trip because a restaurant serving safe to eat cookie dough is something out of a dream.

DŌ is located in downtown Manhattan, and unfortunately for everyone who does not live in New York, they are not currently able to take online orders. But hopefully, they will get that up and running soon. They also cater to events, with a number of fun cookie dough options to serve your guests. If you are ever able to, I highly recommend visiting DŌ and living out all your raw cookie dough fantasies.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
