Into anime? Like Death-Metal? How about hairy men in overly sexualized anime cosplays? Well I can help you out there.
Meet Ladybeard.
It seems like Tumblr is supplying the nourishment I need to overcome my writer's block and, by jove, it did not disappoint.
Ladybeard is Richard Magarey's persona both in and out of the ring. Hailing from Australia as a death metal singer, he went through a series of events that eventually led to the creation of the kawaii metal band known as Ladybaby.
At the age of 23, Richard left Australia in pursuit of a martial arts career in Hong Kong. Developing his art form, he was given stunt training. From there he decided that wrestling would be fun and his popularity grew–especially when he donned a dress in the ring.
Richard says, “I’ve always had an interest in pro-wrestling because it combines all the things that I love — acting, martial arts, character performance and everything....When I began wrestling I decided to wear a dress in the ring and make Ladybeard my ring name too. Everyone loved it.”
Despite the fame and power that came with this newfound career, Richard still missed singing. After much debate, he decided to keep the name Ladybeard and allow it to transfer over to the band.
He’s pretty good!
After appearing in several Japanese Magazines, Richard was given the offer of forming Ladybaby with two Japanese teenagers named Rie and Rei.

Currently, they have three singles out! You go, Ladybaby!
It isn't just millennials breaking the gender barriers these days. Meet Sailor Fuku Ojisan. He's just a middle-aged man dressing up in a Japanese school uniform. For some reason people seem to flock to him when he's out and about on the weekends.
His outfits were originally for an art and design event, but then he just got used to wearing them out in public. Although in another interview,
"He claims that he began dressing up as a dare from a friend because there was a ramen shop in Yokohama that would offer free bowls of ramen to anyone over 30 who would show up in a school uniform, and the rest was history."
Ojisan's appearance became somewhat of an oddity and gained popularity within the eyes of the public. He can be seen around Tokyo taking pictures with the public.
As of 2014, both Ladybeard and Sailor Fuku Ojisan teamed up to promote the importance of studying.
Now, these two are perfect examples of hot topics such as gendering clothing and what can be considered feminine. What are your thoughts? Is this considered a revolution or a fetish?
Why is it okay for men to dress like this overseas, but be discriminated against here in America?
