Every Thursday night I tell myself to stay in and every Thursday night I find myself with a tub in my hand experiencing the magical Ladies Night at the Corner Club. Now some of you may be thinking why Thursday Night when only women get half off of their beverages. Why go to the Corner Club the bar with the least amount of space?
To those people I say this:
Ladies Night is a sacred and holy establishment. By coming to Ladies Night at the Corner Club you put aside houses, drama, and sobriety to enter a place of amazing drunkenness. It is a place where cigs are shared, drinks are had, and the best of friends are made.
Ladies Night at the Corner Club, in my professional opinion, is the best time to get drunk in the Moscow Bars.
While Thursday can seem like an odd night to drink, I assure you by the Mighty Joe Vandal that you find a way to make it there, get drunk, and survive the next day. The University gives you a free water bottle on your first twenty-first birthday for a reason. To hydrate yourself.
The Corner Club is the first establishment to coin the name Tub. A Tub being a 32 ounces of any type of beer served in a large cup. Perfect if your looking for one good drink and are on a budget.
Not only was the Corner Club the first place to have a tub, but they just won "Most Historic Bar" by the National Trust for Historic Preservation. The Club is a place of tradition. Every Homecoming King and Queen sing the fight song atop the Club's tables. Every graduation true Vandals go to the Club for a tub of champagne.
The whole building is wrapped in photos of our histories and traditions. Going to Ladies Night at the Corner Club is a tradition. It's literally in our blood.
While I cannot boast of a one hundred percent attendance, nothing can beat Ladies Night at the Corner Club. From bartenders that you know by first name to the true Vandals that are regulars, you eventually will know everyone.
True Vandals go to the Corner Club, its proven. To go to the Club knowing the fight song is essential as often many randomly get it started. Only the brave and the bold can survive the hustle of being crammed in the Corner, the distance from there place to sleep, and nourish themselves with the only things open (Taco Bell, McDonalds, Grub truck, and Bagel Shop).
Going to the Corner Club is an episode of Friends, the Vandal addition. Its the pride rock of everyone that matters on campus and everyone is welcome. If you want to be a part of tradition and are twenty-one, try Ladies Night at the Corner Club.
