I'll be the first to admit that sometimes, I lack confidence. I have days that I hate my skin, and days that my hair won't cooperate. We all have those days.
Ladies, listen up.
Those days are inevitable. They are going to happen. However, I'm here to tell you that nobody is looking at the pimple on your chin. They aren't looking at your hair that's slightly out of place, or your foundation that isn't totally right.
They're looking at how you walk. They're looking at the warm smile you give when you start a conversation, or the toothy grin that envelopes your face when you laugh. Nobody's looking at the way your face shines a little more at the end of the day. They're looking at the glow you have when you talk about something you love.
Confidence goes so far beyond looks. It delves deeply into being involved in something you love that allows your confidence to shine through your smile and the words you speak.
I have this one friend that absolutely shines when she talks about her future aspirations in politics. She may be stunning, but the thing that is most enveloping about her is the way she talks about what she loves. Her biggest aspiration in life is to show the world what women are capable of. So much so, that she's been asked to speak at different events all across the Eastern seaboard. We need more of that.
Beauty is great, it really and truly is. But what is going to capture hearts and minds more is a confident passion about something that can light up even the darkest of rooms.
I don't care if you hate your smile, or the way your stomach looks when you sit down. I don't care if your butt jiggles a little more than you think it should, or if your teeth aren't totally straight. Confidence doesn't come from beauty. Confidence comes from something so deep in your soul, that no blemish or crooked smile can dim.
Ladies, your confidence isn't going to come from perfect hair or perfect teeth. Find your passion and become so enveloped in it that you can't possibly be ignored or turned away. Let your confidence, and your passion, be your calling card.
