Being a psychology major has both many perks and many disadvantages at times. Regardless of the ups and downs of this incredible major, there are certain things that tie all us psych nerds together while they separate us from others. Being a psych major allows you to learn about incredible things that most people have no idea about, but sometimes it seems like we speak a different language. Regardless of the language, there are many ways in which you can identify yourself as a full fledged psychology major.
You know you're a psychology major when...
1. ...you constantly hear about how pointless your major is.
2. ...you get very technical about emotions, actions and overall personality traits.
3. ...you have attempted to use classical conditioning on yourself, your dog or anybody who would let you.
.
4. ...you nerd out about the classes you get to take next semester.
Whether it's abnormal psychology, drugs and behavior, or theories of counseling you can't wait for all the knowledge those classes will give you.
5. ...you feel an overwhelming sense of satisfaction when your analyses get significant results.
6. ...you are fluent in the language of Pavlov, Harlow, Freud, Erikson, Milgram and Asch.

7. ...you sit in class wondering if the lecture can be applied to you.
8. ...you forgot how to even use MLA format.
9. ...you feel a slow and painful death about research methods, ANOVAs and quantitative reasoning.
10. ...you literally LOL about all the psychology memes out in the Internet world.
Overall, being a psychology major is the bomb dot com. Though people think it's useless, we're out to change the world one significant study at a time! Here's to you, fellow psych majors, nerd on!
