True Life: I Live With A Kitten

How can you not love them?

True Life: I Live With A Kitten

Life with a kitten is definitely an interesting experience. From day one they are checking everything out, being naughty, and needing constant attention. While they are a lot of work, they are worth it because of the snuggles and their overall cuteness. If you have a kitten of your own, here is a list of what it's like living with a kitten that you can probably, for the most part, relate to:

1. They get into EVERYTHING.

Including but not limited to: toilet paper, makeup, earrings, cups, chargers, pencils, hair ties, and everything else sitting out. Nothing is safe.

Eventually you get used to it. Putting away chargers and putting hair ties in plastic bags becomes a daily task. It's the price you have to pay to get a cute little kitten.

2. They have kept you up at least one night.

What should you expect the first week of having a kitten? No sleep. Be prepared for constant jumping around on the bed, running from room to room, and toe bites. Oh, and tip number 1 of having a cat in general? Leave your door open. They can't decide whether they want in or out.

3. You have also probably yelled at them at least once.

What do you do when you hear a loud noise from the other room? Run in, yell their name, and pray there is no serious damage. Each time you yell, you can't help but feel bad so it's hard to not reach over, hug them, and say you're sorry for yelling.

4. You feel like a mom to them.

They might as well be like your child. You feed them, spoil them, play with them, worry about them, and give them love. You just hope your cat considers you to be a "cool mom".

5. Your camera roll is full of all the cute things they do.

Whether it be how they are sitting, meowing, or something funny they did, you definitely got it on camera. It's normal for your Snapchat story to be of your kitten and only your kitten. I mean, who doesn't love cute kitten pictures?

6. You just want to hug them all the time because of how CUTE they are.

And another GIF because...

Seriously though. Even if they're naughty, their cuteness makes up for it all. There isn't much that needs to be said about this. Kittens are adorable.

7. But, they also do weird things.

Sometimes you wonder what goes through their head when they do the things they do. Is the sink really that comfortable? Does the wall taste that good? Most of the time, this pertains to cats any age. Cats in general can do weird things. To be honest, they probably think we do weird things.

8. You wonder if they are crazy sometimes.

From running around like a maniac to spreading toilet paper to each room, you can't help but wonder if you got a crazy cat. By talking with other cat owners, it's normal but you can't help but wonder.

9. But, in the end, you love them to death.

Yeah, they do a lot of naughty and crazy things, but they can be the sweetest, too. They will be there when maybe no one else will, cuddle you when you're sad, make you laugh, and provide you with some great Snapchat stories. Cherish the time you have with them, because it truly flies by.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
