No one wants to be an adult, alright? It's the honest truth of life. Adulthood is the worst. If you could find Neverland on a GPS, you'd spend the rest of eternity partying with Peter Pan and the lost boys. But sadly, the map search is inconclusive and you have to go on with your life and start growing up. College is a big distraction from reality, but slowly, the real reason you're there will start becoming more and more apparent. You're there to become an adult. In fact, you're expected to become an adult. It happens so slowly you don't even feel it sneaking up on you. You never saw it coming. Then one day you wake up and all of the sudden, you're expected to adult. This is not a drill. I repeat, this is not a drill. You have bills and responsibilities and a freshly printed resume. You have to wear real pants and are expected to be able to carry a conversation with real adults on intelligent topics. You have to wake up before noon. It's awful, but don't panic, Kevin Malone from "The Office" is here to guide you into adulthood.

1. Make sure to eat your vegetables.

You may need someone to force you to do it, but your body will thank you.

2. Never accept less than you deserve.

Whether it's in food, life, or salary, always know your worth. Mini cupcakes are a ridiculous concept.

3. Take time for yourself.

Take that vacation, get a little me-time, and give yourself a break.

4. Keep doing the things that make you happy.

Netflix binges are acceptable. Always. Do not let people try to tell you otherwise. They're wrong.

5. Don't waste your time with mean people.

Adulthood is filled with dumb people that specialize in being dumb. Be prepared.

6. Don't be too hard on yourself.

Everyone makes mistakes. The best way to become an adult is to mess up a lot and learn from it.

7. Treat yourself.

Everyone deserves a nice foot soak, okay?

8. Take advantage of every opportunity.

Follow your dreams. Maybe you shouldn't break any laws or damage any property in the process, but hey, even Kevin isn't perfect.

9. Find a creative outlet.

You don't have to be good at it.

10. Be aware of your faults and weaknesses.

Someone is bound to tell you about them eventually, so you might as well be ready for it.

11. Passion is important.

Find reasons to be that excited about life, but control your excitement so you don't overdo it.

12. Dating won't get any easier.

Sorry.

13. Keep dreaming, even if it's an uphill battle.

Adulthood is crazy and has the ability to crush you with the weight of the responsibilities. Don't let it.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
