First and foremost, you're all probably wondering "what the heck is Kazaxe!?" and "how do you pronounce it?" Kazaxe, pronounced kah-zah-shey, is a high intensity work-out program centered in Springfield, VA. Much like zumba, Kazaxe uses the unique and fast-pace music, many of which come from the Caribbean/Central America. However, Kazaxe is much less uniform and controlled and there is a lot more bodying rolling, booty popping and hip movement. The intensity and dance-moves are derived from the Latin, Caribbean and African roots of the songs that are played in the studio. Kazaxe founder, Azuka, has managed to create this amazing atmosphere of fun and carefree activity. You don't feel like you're working out and if you do start to feel it you don't want to stop because you're having so much fun.

Kazaxe is booty shaking, hip popping fun that started in the basement of Azuka's house. Word traveled about her ultra fun work-party and her program steadily grew. Now, based in a boxing warehouse, Azuka makes it clear that she is here with you, having fun and doing every move with you and she's intent on making it the biggest party you've ever worked out in. She likes loud music, bright lights and neon colors. She's assembled a team of outstanding individuals who share her passion of movement fitness and fun. No one is discriminated against for size, shape, color or dancing skill. Azuka invites regular class attendees and people who are having fun to come up on stage with her and assist with teaching dances. The first time I ever went to her class I smiled so hard because I was nervous. I didn’t want to be judged for messing up or looking stupid but everyone on that stage was having the time of their lives. They didn’t care how they looked, or if they messed up. They didn’t even care if they were on beat. I let loose and danced my butt off and I have never had so much fun working out.

If you are ever in NOVA (Northern Virginia) specifically the Springfield area, I implore you to take a class. The classes are about an hour long and cost only $6. Visit their website to find out more about class times, instructors, and to answer any questions you might still have. Get ready for the party of your lives. You won't regret your trip to the Kazaxe warehouse and your body will thank you!

Taylor Swift in orange dress playing a moss-covered piano on stage with bright lights.

A three-and-a-half-hour runtime. Nine Eras. Eleven outfit changes. Three surprise songs. Zero breaks. One unforgettable evening. In the past century, no other performer has put on an electric performance quite like Taylor Swift, surpassing her fans ‘wildest dreams’. It is the reason supporters keep coming back to her shows each year. Days later, I’m still in awe of the spectacle ‘Miss Americana’ puts on every few days in a new city. And, like one of Taylor’s exes, has me smiling as I reminisce about the memories of the night we spent together.
