In this world, choices are inevitable. They're just one of the many unavoidable features of life, but no matter what you do, life goes on. Time waits for no one -- simple as that. But the one thing you can do is make the most of your time. Because time isn't really an enemy you can beat, it's just one you're forced to coincide with. One that, although unbeatable, can be made bearable. How so? Well, that's up to you. It's however you choose to spend your time, which is why what you choose is so important. Never forget that you're never going to get this time back, so use it wisely.
When it comes to how you could spend your time, well, there are so many options. Like sitting down and binge-watching your favorite shows on Netflix, heading out to wild parties, getting wasted and regretting it the next morning, or even just taking a breather and spending a relaxing afternoon on the couch with a good book. Oh, how endless the possibilities are. So how could anyone come up with just what the "right" way to spend your time is? Of course, that'll always be up to you. But what about those things that you'd love to do but don't have enough courage to? Have you ever felt a bit "iffy" about doing something? Or unmotivated? Because, if so, then my question to you is, why is that?
Life has its ups and downs, anyone can tell you that. But there's one thing that'll always remain true, and it's that only you can dictate how you feel. You are the only one in control of your emotions, and your attitude is yours alone to determine. Once you fully understand that, nothing can hurt you. I'm not saying that you should go out and throw caution to the wind, but I am saying that it's OK to take chances! Why live your life in a shell of self-pity when you can do whatever you like with your time? Go ahead and ask out that special someone you've been eyeing, lead that group project in class, and apply for that promotion at work! What's the worst that can happen? You'll be told "no," and so what? You've got your answer and now you can move on. Not only that, but now you know. If you ask me, that's much better than always thinking back and wondering "what if?" There's always going to be what-ifs in life, but if you're always afraid of rejection, you'll never get an answer.
Life is short, when you think about it. One day you'll be heading into class on your first day of school as an elementary student, while the next day you'll be marching up on stage to get your high school diploma, and as you're heading out of the auditorium, you'll start to think, "Wow, where did time go?" That was me a year ago, yet now -- here I am today, wondering again where this past year went. My point is, life is way too short to spend second-guessing yourself at every step of the way. You're never going to get this time back, so make how you spend it worth it, and remember to always live in the moment. Take risks, chances, gambles, and, in the words of the great Shia LaBeouf, "don't let your dreams be dreams, just do it!"
