Why You Should Join University Ambassadors

On Wednesday, September 2nd, Texas State will be hosting an Involvement Fair in the Quad. The University Ambassadors is one of the many organizations that will be present; an organization near and dear to my heart. I joined University Ambassadors last fall and it has been one of the best decisions I've ever made.

University Ambassadors is a chartered volunteer organization of the Office of Undergraduate Admissions and the Alumni Association at Texas State. We act as the faces of the University when dealing with high school students, parents and visitors. We love our university and give back to it by guiding campus tours, running Bobcat Days and working with Alumni and Admissions (just to name a few of the many things we do.) This organization has not only allowed me to show potential Bobcats why Texas State is amazing, but it's also given me the opportunity to learn how to be successful in all that I do. Becoming an ambassador has given me such a confidence boost, and still does! You're reminded everyday that you were handpicked to represent this amazing university.

University Ambassadors are a diverse group of hardworking, personable, kind, fun students who want to be their best in all that they do. I've met so many people in the organization whose cultures and lifestyles are different from my own, but we all get along and love each other like family. I'm proud to call every person in University Ambassadors my friend.

By joining the ambassadors, you'll learn how to be successful and appropriate in the professional world, and you'll have tons of fun with your ambassador family at retreats and meetings. And don't worry if you don't ooze confidence, I was very shy and still got accepted!

If you love Texas State, want to give back to future, current and past Bobcats, learn how to be confident and professional, make lifelong friendships and connections, wear awesome polos and have fun, then University Ambassadors is the organization for you!

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
