Why You Should Join A Sorority

If we did pay for our friends, we aren't paying enough.

Why You Should Join A Sorority

Being involved in something as great as a sorority is hectic, to say the least, but in a good way. Whether you decide to join for the social aspect, sororities have so much more to offer than helping your social life. Sororities build women to be the best version of themselves and without these great organizations, finding yourself in college would just be that much tougher.

Join for the sisterhood.

Joining a sorority to have a group of girlfriends is one of the main reasons we join. Knowing no matter what happens you have a group of girls that will have your back in life will make any problem easier. It is also nice always having someone to do something with because sisters are always there for each other. Disclaimer: Sorority girls do not think we pay for our friends, so get that idea out of your mind. If we did pay for our friends, we aren't paying enough.

Join for the growth you see in yourself.

In every sorority, they are dedicated to one philanthropy to raise awareness for. While many sororities hold their own philanthropic event, attending these events will make you feel good about yourself and the people you surround yourself with in your chapter. Giving back to the community is one way to grow as a person.

Join for the home away from home.

Everyone will get homesick in college, at one point or another. But the important thing to remember is that someone in your chapter probably feels the same way. Snuggling up and pigging out during a nice night in to help your homesickness with a sister is always the way to go.

Join for the experience.

We all know everyone who isn't in a sorority assumes all we do is party. While remembering this is college, this is a once in a lifetime experience. All of your greatest moments will be within your chapter or with some of your sisters.

Join for the connections.

Everyone in your chapter wants to see it grow and see every member grow. The connections you make with your chapter's alumnae and other chapter's can lead to very bright things in the future. Maybe your future employer will be in that same organization you were in as well.

Join for you.

Sometimes, a sorority isn't for everyone but you truly get what you put in. If you don't put in effort into your chapter, it will make you feel disconnected and seem like it is not worth it. But if you are dedicated to making yourself be the best version of yourself with all your sisters behind you cheering you on, put in effort to that chapter. Make the best out of the experience you get from it because you will always be a member of that sorority.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
