10 Times 'Jane The Virgin' Fans Realized They Were #TeamMichael

Rafael, you're great — just not for Jane.

10 Times 'Jane The Virgin' Fans Realized They Were #TeamMichael

Anyone who knows me and my love for Netflix knows that my love for "Jane the Virgin" runs deep.

What might possibly run deeper is my passion for #TeamMichael.

Michael Cordero is easily my favorite character on the show and the best partner for Jane. (Don't get me wrong, though, I do like Rafael — just not as Jane's partner).

When he died in season three, I might have been as heartbroken as Jane. So, here are the 10 moments that made me #TeamMichael for life, listed in order of importance.

1. When he saved Mateo from Sin Rostro

Look. There was no part of Michael that was obligated to save Mateo when Rose kidnapped him after he was born. Jane just had Rafael's baby, who Michael eventually accepted (although he was not enthralled), and it was a confusing and emotional experience for everyone involved.

But when he brought out Mateo from the church and post-birth Jane waddled toward them, my heart melted

2. When he surprised Jane by saying his wedding vows in Spanish

Giphy

Jane's heritage and bilingual nature is extremely important, so when Michael went the extra mile and memorized the vows in Spanish, everyone was crying. I don't cry over fictional things, but I was crying for sure.

3. When he secretly looked out for Jane after they broke up

Giphy

Everyone knows that neither one of them actually wanted to separate, but with the Sin Rostro case going strong and the aftermath of Mateo's kidnapping, Michael made sure Jane was safe, always.

4. When he saved Alba from being deported

Giphy

Michael became extremely attached to Jane's family because, let's be honest, they're pretty amazing. When they found out that Alba was possibly about to be deported, Michael stepped in and saved her.

5. When he proposed to Jane the second time

Giphy

The first time was when Michael found out that Jane wanted to keep the baby, so that obviously did not go very well. But the second time, Jane didn't even let him finish. I think that this moment really showed how ridiculous her love was for him.

6. When he defended Jane and Mateo to his parents

Giphy

As I said about the kidnapping, Michael had no obligations to love Mateo as much as he does, but he became attached and essentially took him in as his own. His parents insensitively asked about looking after "someone else's kid," but Michael stood up to them and told them that Mateo wasn't just someone else's kid. Go, Michael!

7. When the bromance began with Rogelio

Giphy

I can't choose a specific moment with these two because every moment between them is noteworthy. At first, Michael was not open to having a strong friendship with Ro. But once they broke the ice, their bromance was unstoppable.

8. When they kissed the first time

Giphy

The first kiss was basically everything Jane wanted and more, but it was also the moment that everyone realized that this cop who came over on a noise complaint was going to stick around for a while.

9. When they had their reunion kiss

Giphy

Snow actually fell in Miami. That's how perfect these two are for each other.

10. When he came back.

Giphy

This isn't my least favorite. I just wanted to save it until the end. My heart actually stopped.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
