If you're not familiar with ABC's hit reality television show, The Bachelorette, then allow me to give you a brief summary. On a typical season of The Bachelorette, one female contestant is presented with over twenty men in the search for love. Each week a variety of exciting dates is set up including one-on-one dates, two-on-one dates, and group dates. However, they are not your ordinary, everyday dates, and contestants are even flown to various locations across the United States and the world - some highlights from this season including a hot yoga class, a trip to the ESPN studio, and an exotic trip to Buenos Aires. This season, former Bachelor contestant, (The Bachelor has a similar premise except there is one male contestant and over twenty female contestants) JoJo Fletcher, still in search for her "unicorn" as she refers to a one-of-a-kind love, became the Bachelorette after having her heart broken by Ben Higgins.
As one can expect, when you put over twenty random men in a mansion together, you're bound to get quite the variety of personalities. The infamous villain of the season, Chad, encapsulated the personality of someone unfit for the show, often referred to as "not there for the right reasons" by the Bachelor Nation. Condemned by his fellow housemates, Chad was a workout and protein obsessed man with a short temper who JoJo eventually kicked off the season on a two-on-one date in the woods (yes, in the woods) with sweet Marine Alex. However, neither the villain nor the sweet Marine nor the brother of revered Green Bay Packers football player Aaron Rogers, Jordan, grabbed my attention, but rather James Taylor.
James Taylor. No, not the famous country singer, but a singer/songwriter from Texas nonetheless. This particularly charming auburn-haired gentleman stole the hearts of many on this season. He exemplifies all of the qualities of a true southern gentleman by treating JoJo like a princess and devoting his time, attention, and effort into the relationship. James considered himself an underdog, however, through making comments about his appearance and general presence, but JoJo always reassured him that he deserved to be there. Even though JoJo didn't find her true love with James, James reminded men of the real way to treat a woman. On their first one-on-one date, they found themselves dressing up in 50s attire and taking swing dancing classes from a vintage swing dance instructor. This date illustrated James' true love to "make a girl smile" and being a true gentleman to JoJo.
James reminds all men to be humble, kindhearted, and considerate. With such a jaded dating culture of today's world, it was refreshing to witness a man who genuinely wanted that classic dating relationship and truly desired for JoJo to feel cherished and respected. James truly was the best contestant on the Bachelorette because he broke stereotypes for the kind of men who would choose to participate on the show like those seeking fame or attention. Due to this and his endearing qualities, there have been recent rumors of him becoming the next Bachelor in order to find that love he so desires. During his goodbye with JoJo, she told him how much she wanted him to find someone who would treat him well, in which he responded, "I want to find that, too." Considering this comment, his fan base, and genuine desire to find his perfect girl, it wouldn't be surprising to hear that he will be the next Bachelor.
