I've Never Been To Disney And That's Okay

It's really not, but I've done so many other cool things.

There are plenty of things that I've experienced and enjoyed in life, and they've all been done without going to Disney. Here are some of the things that I've done instead, and some of the things that you can take your kids to instead of Disney.

1. Cedar Point (Sandusky, OH)

Okay, so yes, this is also an amusement park, but it's a whole lot of fun, not to mention, a whole heck of a lot cheaper. This is perfect amusement park for the teenager in your life. I went when I was about twelve and loved it. And if you're not one for rides, there's plenty of shows for you to go to.

2. Shea's Theater (Buffalo, NY)

I can't even begin to count the number of shows I've went to here. They always put on a wonderful show and I've loved every minute that I've been there. This is perfect for any age group, specifically for the musical theater lover in your family.

3. NYC (New York, NY)

There is so much to do and see in New York City, I wasn't able to see it all in the one weekend that I was there. We did however, go to the Today Show(I got on TV), saw the Rockette Christmas Show, and went to Macy's.

4. Phoenix, AZ

Every time that I go to Phoenix, I fall in love with it even more. Just like NYC, there is so much to do in Phoenix.

5. Disney Cruise

I said I've never been to Disney. I never said I hadn't been on a Disney Cruise. This might take the cake. I got to go when I was eight, and let me be the first to tell you, everyone there worked overtime to make sure that all of the guests had a blast. Although, if I were to do the Disney Cruise again, I'd go to Disney World first then do the cruise.

So there you go, some things that aren't as expensive as Disney that will still be great experiences for you and your kids. Experiences that I am grateful that I've gotten to have.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
