I’ve had relationships in the past where it turns into a three or four way relationship. It starts off as you and your SO and then it leads to more people getting involved and trying to be a part of your relationship. It’s overwhelming because relationships are supposed to be between two people. Not 10. And then it comes to the point where your entire family along with his entire family becomes involved in all of your plans for the future.
It’s YOUR relationship.
Your ideas and your plans and your actions should be between you and your SO. Your family can have their input, but when it all comes down to it, it really is your decision.
Whether it be moving in together, getting married, or starting a family, that really should be a decision that you should decide for yourself and for your partner. If you feel you are ready to move in together, get married and start a family, then DO IT. It shouldn’t matter how old you two are or how long you have been dating. What matters is how happy you two are together and that you are in love.
To me, my family’s opinions will always matter but in some cases, I want to decide things on my own without the input of everybody else. When I talk about my relationship with my friends or family, they question whether or not I’m sure about my decisions and whether or not I’m truly happy. And when I tell them how happy I am and how serious I am about my decisions with my boyfriend, they STILL question it all.
Why is it anybody’s business as to what I decide to do with my life?
It’s YOUR relationship.
You can do whatever you want with it.
