It's Okay To Not Have A Plan
belindaselene

My whole life I grew up thinking I had to have everything planned out for the rest of my life. I thought I would know where I was going to college by the fall of my senior year in high school, and that I would know my major at the beginning of college and stick to it all four years. This all quickly changed when I didn't decide where I would go to college until two months before I graduated high school. When I first entered college I thought I would major in athletic training, but then I realized I was really bad at science and I was undecided my whole first year. I was always one of those people who hated not knowing what I was doing and making last minute plans. However, I never knew what I was doing and I was constantly making last minute plans, and now I know that it's okay to do all of those things.

So many people today like to have their whole lives planned out from what they are having for dinner a week from now to what age they are going to get married and have their first child. If I've learned anything throughout my 20 years of life it's that you cannot plan everything. There are always going to be bumps and curves in the road. Plans are always going to be changing. Many people are uncomfortable with change and they feel that it is something that should be feared because it's not comfortable to them. This has been something that has always bee hard for me to grasp. Change happens and there is absolutely nothing we can do to change that. We just have to go with it.

Every time I start to worry about the future because I have no idea what I'm doing, my boyfriend always tells me to "just go with the flow"—as much as I hate to admit it, he's right. Change is going to happen and we just have to embrace it. One thing I do know for sure is that God has a plan for each and every one of us and it is far greater than the plans we have for ourselves. I'm halfway done with college and I have absolutely no idea what I want to do after I graduate, but I have learned to not let this scare me. I know everything is going to work out eventually.

Next time you're upset because something doesn't turn out the way you want it to, just remember that it's okay. You don't have to have your whole life planned out because everything is going to happen the way it's supposed to whether it's in your plans or not. Life is a beautiful thing and it is so amazing to just sit back and watch everything unfold instead of trying to plan out every minute of every day. When life gets tough and things aren't going your way, remember, in the words of my very wise boyfriend, "just go with the flow," everything is going to work out just as God has intended it to.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
