My Issues With Tomi Lahren

Many may know Tomi Lahren from her Final Thoughts aired on the Blaze TV. Everyday she posts her Final Thoughts videos on Facebook. On her Final Thoughts she discusses certain topics regarding politics and other things that are going on the world.

Since she is a conservative, a lot of attacks are against President Obama and Hillary Clinton. Even though her Final Thoughts segment is what she feels about certain things, a lot of the things she presents are not factual. As a journalist, when presenting facts, she is supposed to be knowledgeable. Instead, she twists facts with her opinion. For example, on her attack on Black Lives Matter, she claimed that they are the new KKK. How are Black Lives Matter the new KKK when they are raising awareness about the injustices happening to the people of color? The KKK are strictly only white people and Black Lives Matter have all races within the organization. Never has the Black Lives Matter movement lynched, assaulted, spit on, rape, and did other horrific acts to white people just because they are white.

When people speak up about the injustices that are happening towards the people of color, she claims that they are race baiting, causing division, and playing the victim card. It is people like her are blind to the problems and instead of helping the cause of trying to get things better she criticizes those who oppose the establishment.

When she talked about racism during the Civil War, she mentioned that her ancestors fought for the freedom of black slaves, and it was white, southern democrats who were the ones who fought to keep slavery. While she is right about the democrats fighting to keep slavery, it seems she fails to understand is that the Republican Party during slavery is not the Republican Party now. Members of both parties switched over, but clearly she does not know that. How does she know that her ancestors fought for the North?

The last person I can remember who disagreed with her who came on her show was Charlamagne the God, and after that the people she brings on the show agree with her so she can further her agenda; thus not having compelling debates of the things she says. When she talks about Hillary Clinton, she makes it seem like Donald Trump is not a liar and a saint. The most disrespectful thing she has done is calling President Obama Barry. You do not have to like him, but at least respect him since he is the President. She also has the nerve to say Colin Kaepernick is disrespecting the country, but she is disrespecting the country by disrespecting the commander in chief. My main issue is the fact that she talks about trying to unite the country, but she tears down the ones who try to bring attention and change to problems that this country is facing.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
