Is Hillary Clinton Really The Right Choice?

There's no way I would vote for her.

I can’t say that I know much about the other people running. I haven’t followed Bernie Sanders or any independents. So I can’t really say anything about them. I do believe that the main contestants are Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton, and that scares me. Trump is described as many things that are not very becoming. Sexist, racist, etc. I can’t even say that those aren’t true. He has said some really stupid stuff during his campaign. I cannot deny that.

However, when it comes to Hillary Clinton I feel like some people aren’t really paying attention to her. Trump gets slammed every few minutes for some awful thing he has done or said. Clinton though, not slammed enough in my opinion.

I'm sure most people have seen this by now, if not, you should. The video shows video clips of Clinton over the years to show how she has lied. Some have argued that she shouldn't be ridiculed for her stance on gay marriage changing. My problem isn't that she changed her stance, it's that she denies changing it at all. At around a minute and fifteen seconds you hear her being interviewed by a woman and Clinton tells the woman her record is strong at fighting this cause. It's not though, it's only recently that she changed her stance. The woman interviewing her actually was giving her an out before she interrupted, by saying that maybe she changed her mind because back when she said she was against it that America wasn't ready for that change so she felt she couldn't support it at the time. Clinton said no to that statement.

At eight minutes and thirty-eight seconds, the video shows clips about her trip to Bosnia in 1996. She told people she arrived under sniper fire and was told to run to the cars. She is shown several times describing how she arrived in Bosnia. When confront about her trip with a video, Clinton revises her story and says that were was an eight-year-old girl waiting to meet her that she couldn't just ignore. The video shows that wasn't the case either. She and Chelsea Clinton, her daughter, stayed on the tarmac to greet military officials and took photos with an entire group of seventh graders. If it was so dangerous, why were there so many people there on the tarmac, where she said they weren't?

The attack in Benghazi was terrible. Four Americans died that day. When testifying before the Benghazi committee Hillary Clinton laughs at one of their questions.

I don't think the families of those four Americans care what time it is, the situation at hand wasn't funny to anyone.

Another video you can watch shows how the initial reason that we were given for the attack in Libya wasn't true, and they knew that. We were told it was because of some YouTube video that sparked the violent protests. Both Clinton and Obama are recorded telling Americans that the reason for the attack was because of the protests. Later, Clinton's emails tell a different story which you can see here. Within twenty-four hours she had a conversation with the Egyptian Prime Minister where she told him that they knew the attack had nothing to do with the video. They knew it was a planned attack and not a protest. The blatant lie to Americans then can only foreshadow her behavior as a president.

If you haven't been following her email scandal, it did come to a close on July 6th, 2016. They decided to not press charges. She knowingly used her family's private email server to send work related emails. She knew it was wrong and did it anyway. Reince Priebus, the Republican National Committee Chairman, said "Those who have mishandled classified information have had their security clearances revoked, lost their jobs, faced fines, and even been sent to prison, yet Hillary Clinton is being allowed to play by a different set of rules." The FBI director, James Comey, said they couldn't find evidence that they "intended" to do it, but that they were very careless. If Trump is to be held to high standards, why isn't she? She's had years of experience to know which servers she can and cannot use. She is not a newbie, she should be held accountable for her actions. She should not even be allowed to run for president.

Clinton was also widely criticized for her defense of a rapist in 1975. Now, we can't blame her for doing her job. Even criminals need lawyers and we are supposed to uphold the idea that people are innocent until proven guilty. My issue with Clinton on this matter wasn't her job, my issue is her reaction. She laughs about getting a rapist out on time served, which was two months. She knew he was guilty, but she managed to get the evidence thrown out so he got time served. The tapes from her interview in the 1980s about this case can be watched here. You can hear her talk about how he took a lie detector, which he passed, and that forever destroyed her faith in polygraphs. If he wasn't guilty, why would that destroy her faith in polygraphs? This statement tells me that she knew he was guilty and that's why it destroyed her faith. My issue is that she is laughing. A little girl was violated in a horrible way, and she finds it funny that the guilty party passed a polygraph.

Trump may be a lot of things; I'm not saying he's right for this country either. What I am saying though, is that Hillary Clinton is definitely not right for this country. Her reactions to things is what leads me to this conclusion. She can change her mind and she can be blameless in the fact that she defended criminals once, but her reactions to certain events are not acceptable behavior for a president. They aren't even acceptable as just a person either.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
