I sit here trying to do my homework for fiction

Being distracted by the upcoming prediction

Hurricanes and tornadoes are about

Where it is going to go there has been some doubt

The track keeps changing

While the wind keeps the trees banging

Beaufort South Carolina has some flooding

The twigs flying in the air cause some thudding

Inside as we wait the lights keep flickering

While our sweet teething baby keeps on bickering

Although it hit us as a tropical storm

Category 3 hurricane was predicted to perform

There was an evacuation given for those who lived closer to the coast

To protect them from the surge that would make our lands toast

Thankfully with all of the scare

It just made us more prepared

Hopefully the debris will be easy to restore

So things can go back to the way it was before

With the storm predicted to cause so much destruction

It is understandable

Why people want to be home to do an inspection

Our dogs do not know what to do

Their need to use the restroom is long overdue

We hope this storm does not last

We are tired of this dreary forcast
