Ahh, second semester. Winter break and zero responsibility have sadly come to an end and with it the start of a brand new semester. Before the new semester has the chance to drain us physically and emotionally, though, college students are grateful to know that while the five weeks of break are over, there is still one more free week to come - Syllabus Week. But this week is so much better because instead of being stuck in your parents' house in your boring hometown, you're back in your wonderful college town surrounded by your favorite people. So without further adieu, here are the stages of syllabus week every college student across the nation will soon be experiencing.
1. Reuniting with your roommates after a long five weeks apart.
2. Catching up on everything that happened over the weeks.
"Okay so tell me everything."
3. Waking up for your first class.
4. Seeing your campus for the first time.
Lookin' at you UT Tower.
5. Trying but failing to listen to what the professor is saying.
Your body has not seen this early of a morning all break and you can't remember how you used to do it.
6. When the professor starts teaching instead of releasing you after handing out the syllabus.
Hahaha no.
7. Being reminded on your walk to class just how many people go to your school.
8. Trying to decide where to go out.
9. Ignoring all the work your professors are already piling on top of you.
It's fine, you're fine, everything's fine. It's only the first week of class, you have time to figure it all out.
10. So instead, you go out for the third time that week.
"Yeah, of course I'm going out again. It's syllabus week."
11. Waking up Sunday at 4 p.m. and seeing all the work you avoided.
Crap.
12. Turning everything around and becoming the most productive you've ever been.
Well for now at least.
