A lot of you guys have only experienced ramen noodles when living on a budget. The cheap Maruchan or Cup Noodle ramen packets for a few cents a packaged, that is your dinner. However, there are many many many different types and brand of ramen noodles out there. These ramen noodles are tastier and much more expensive than the typical ones that you would find in your local grocery. Most of these, however, can be found in any asian supermarkets. Here are a few of my favorite ramen:
1. MAMA
So this is a Thai style ramen. The noodles are not as thick as the Maruchan ramen noodles. They come in many different types of flavors including Shrimp Tom Yum (my favorite), pork and chicken. The most common flavor is Shrimp Tom Yum which has a spicy and sour soup base.
2. Dosirac
This ramen noodle is from Korea and comes in these white rectangular styrofoam containers that make it easily disposable. These are tasty and come in many different flavors including beef, shrimp, and chicken.
3. Shin Ramyun
Warning: these ramen noodles are super spicy. These korean noodles are made with a spicy and salty soup base. If you are feeling a little frisky, you can add an egg or vegetables to this to make it much more enjoyable. These come in packets (as seen in the photo above), cups (which are my favorite), and there is also another version called Shin Ramyun Black and this one is less spicier and a more subdue taste. The original Shin Ramyun can be picked up at your local Giant, Weis, or Walmart.
4. Mi Goreng
This ramen noodle is not your typical noodles with soup. This ramen noodle is meant to be eaten dry. So what you do is boil up some water and cook the noodles without the seasonings. Then scoop out the ramen, add your seasonings, and mix it up. These taste salty and sweet and has a little kick to it, all in all, I would recommend.
5. Mi lau thai
These ramen noodles are made from Vietnam. These cook really really fast and taste AMAZING. There are various flavors, like all the other ramen noodles, but my favorite is the original Shrimp. It is very aromatic and has that hot and sour Thailand hotpot taste.
